Happy to be Waiting!

For the past several months, Andy & I have been praying about getting back on the special needs (SN) waiting list with our adoption agency. We felt all along we should wait until the winter had passed to give my body plenty of time to heal from surgery and to see how it fares during "sick season". We are incredibly thankful with how much better I've been doing! We can see God has been working... and we are ready for the next stage. So ready.

Praise God our wait (to wait) is finally over!!
We believe we are ready to *truly* wait now :)

So, today we were blessed to have a very upbeat discussion with our adoption coordinator, Alison.  She came to our home for her semi-annual visit and we were able to discuss OFFICIALLY getting back on the SN waiting list!!!!! And we were pleasantly surprised to find that we will be taken off "hold" in the same place we left off (i.e. with a March 2010 start date).  That means we will be at (or very near) the top of the special needs waiting families.  And according to Alison, she believes we will be given a referral. SOON.

Our daughter is waiting ... and SO. ARE. WE.  We are ALL ready for this!

A Few of My Favorite Things...

Ok, I just found this post as a draft and I wanted to share it ... even though some of the sayings are no longer already :(  Ahhh ... such good memories :)

Favorite Things:

* Kisses and hugs from my babies (who are not so small anymore!)
* Listening to my kiddos giggle together

Favorite Words and Sayings:

Wil - thinger (for finger)
      - contar (for guitar)

Charlie - he has a hard time with his "r" when it is in a blend.
      - one of my favorite examples of this is "It's so bleezin' cold" (freezing) & "It's my favlite" (favorite)
      - he also introduces his brother (to us) "This is Wil. He's my blutha - He's my flend."
      - "Is this the way?" about so many things (like are his underpants going on backwards?)
      - every neighbor is a "garber" (ode to Mr. Garber)
      - "Stop it Wil" ... "Quit messing 'round"  - These may not seem funny to some, but it's life here and we laugh when we can! The first is one of the first things we hear in the morning to know that both boys are awake, and when the first and last complaints are joined it would be heard at night while Charlie is trying to get some rest :)
      - everything happened "asterday" (yesterday)
      - "You bloke my spell"
      - "You cheated me" - we have no idea what he means or why he started it, but it's become a frequent saying around the house.
      - "It's fo mine" & "It's fo yo's"

There are so many more, but these stick out in my mind ... and make me laugh :)
